Health Current, a Contexture organization and Arizona’s health information exchange (HIE), announced today that it has achieved a major milestone with the addition of its 1,000th participating organization, with the signing of Arizona Diagnostic Radiology Group.
Arizona Diagnostic Radiology offers a range of medical imaging services, from neuroradiology and musculoskeletal radiology to women’s imaging and general radiology. It was founded in 2020 as a joint venture between RadNet and Dignity Health/CommonSpirit Health and today has seven locations across central Arizona.
“Participating in the Arizona HIE will be a tremendous benefit to our organization, particularly with our frontline staff having access to data that will assist in obtaining prior authorizations from a patient’s insurance,” said Arizona Diagnostic Radiology Vice President of Business Development, Von Doss. “We’re dedicated to delivering patient-centered care, and we’re confident that joining the HIE will ultimately improve the experience for our patients.”
The Arizona HIE has grown exponentially since 2015 when 76 participating organizations first pioneered healthcare data sharing in the state. The HIE has grown by more than 13 times in the past seven years, fueled by an 82% increase since the start of 2019.

In addition to becoming the 1,000th participating organization to utilize Health Current data, Arizona Diagnostic Radiology will eventually join the hundreds of organizations that supply data to the HIE. They will contribute radiology reports to the pool of data made available to participating organizations across the state.
The list of HIE participating organizations that supply data has risen by more than 20 times since 2015. This is important because the more data shared by the healthcare community, the more complete picture providers have of their patients’ health.

“We’re thrilled to celebrate this crowning achievement with the Arizona Diagnostic Radiology team,” said Contexture CEO Melissa Kotrys. “The growth of the HIE over the years isn’t just a reflection of the hard work and commitment of our team or the value of health data exchange; it also speaks to the positive spirit of collaboration that makes the Arizona healthcare community unique and a national leader in the HIE industry.”
